By: Oparebea Miriam.  Climate change is an issue that affects us all, but it’s  impact on children, the most vulnerable in societies and countries safety is particularly concerning. As the as the Earth's climate rapidly change rear wheel is a variety in consequence that directly affect the well-being of our younger generation and the future generation.            Let’s explore the various ways in which climate change poses a risk to children safety and elaborate on the importance of taking action.             Extreme weather conditions have become the most visible impact of climate change. The increase in scorching days from the Sun, the constant rainfalls and the increase in sea levels are the most talked about impact on climate change. Well these events can have devastating effects on children's safety leading to injuries, displacement and even loss of life. Most refugees in Ghana that are stranded are children. Without being in schools most roam about the street in order to

By Simpson Anita Over the years, one may have heard of the term, “Climate Change” and thought of it as a faraway concept or as something that affects only developed countries. But climate change is no longer a distant threat; its impacts are affecting us now, and no group is more vulnerable than the young. (Sheffield & Landrigan, 2011)   Climate change is an encompassing term that describes the long-term changes in the Earth’s climate patterns, including temperature, wind patterns, and ocean currents. Climate change is largely caused by harmful human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and unsustainable agricultural practices. These activities lead to an increase in the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.   Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat from the sun and warm up the Earth’s surface.   The average global temperature has increased by about 1.1°C since the pre-industrial era, and each of the last four decades has been war

IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION ON CHILDREN'S WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT.

By: Annabella Araba Essilfie   Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperature and weather patterns, which can have various impact on the environment. These impacts include the intensity of natural disasters, loss of biodiversity, rising sea levels and changes in the ecosystem. All of these factors can contribute to Environmental Degradation. However, Environmental Degradation can be caused by other factors such as; air pollution, deforestation and many others.  Over the years, some scholars and health practitioners such as; D. Parker, Donna. L. Goodman, Selim Itus, Olivier Deschenes, Janet Currie and many others have taken into consideration the impact of Climate change on Children.  All of these scholars have come to a resolution that Climate Change has negative impact on children. They all outline Health effects, Displacement and Migration, Food and Water security, mental health and others as effects climate change has on children. They also believe that it is necessary to

In  such  times,   lives are not just lost but also infrastructures are usually  destroyed. The   infrastructures destroyed  also   includes  school  buildings,  which  exert influence on children's  education.   During such periods, children stop attending classes for a while until things are put out in place. Rebuilding   this   infrastructure   takes  time  and  further delays  children's   return  to

By Loretta Boamah. The well-being and sanity of future generations is being threatened and endangered due to climate change. Research has shown that after the industrial revolution period, human activities have contributed to the rise in change of weather patterns due to the high release of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Some of the greenhouse gases included methane, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide. A research made show that carbon dioxide is more emitted in the atmosphere than the other gases. Some human activities that cause climate change includes; burning of fossil fuels, cutting down of trees and industrialization. All these activities have an impact on children’s heath and welfare. Climate change refers the  gradual shift in weather patterns for a long period of time .   According to the UNICEF, climate change has an impact on everyone but children stand a high chance of being affected due to their vulnerability. Some of the impact it has on children includes;  respiratory d
